Montreal, August 17, 2023 – As part of its efforts to reduce the digital divide and respond more specifically to the needs of young indigenous and their communities, Montreal Digital Spring (PN) is proud to launch the first cohort of Indigenous Youth Ambassadors for Digital Desirability. A dozen participants aged 18 to 29 will take part in MTL connect, free of charge, from October 10 to 13, 2023.
With this initiative, Montreal Digital Spring aims to encourage the participation of young professionals interested in getting involved in the reflection on the impact of digital technology on our societies and the economic development of territories.
A series of company visits and workshops will be offered. It will enable them to explore the future possibilities offered by the digital creativity industry in Quebec, and express their wishes for the use of technology in their communities.
“With this initiative, Montreal Digital Spring is taking tangible steps to encourage the inclusion and involvement of young people. By using digital technology as a lever for access to equal opportunities, we aim to inspire them to embrace entrepreneurship and amplify their impact within their communities.”,
emphasizes Mehdi Benboubakeur, General manager.
Activities and exchanges will be documented. This will foster the emergence of solutions and initiatives for the sustainable development of indigenous communities.
Since 2019, Montreal Digital Spring and the Atikamekw Nation Council have been pursuing a collaboration to implement initiatives in favor of digital education among Atikamekw youth. The following indigenous organizations and partners will contribute to the Young Ambassadors experience at MTL connect:
