Through its flagship event MTL connect, Montreal Digital Spring (Printemps numérique) is resolutely committed to deciphering the codes of possible futures. That’s why, for this 5th anniversary edition, the event will bring together crucial themes under a common banner: Smart and connected Territories. See you from October 10 to 13, 2023, at the NAD School in Montreal and online.
At the heart of this reflection is the transformation of communities, whether rural or urban. How can collective practices become the architects of a positive metamorphosis? Connected territories seek to transcend physical boundaries, to create living spaces where connectivity fosters the sharing of ideas, resources and social innovation. MTL connect will explore how technology can be used to strengthen the social fabric, preserving the very essence of our communities.
Here’s an overview of activities not to be missed:
Conference on the subtle city with Eric Cassar

Éric Cassar (Arkhenspaces) invites you on an immersive exploration of these augmented territories: a plunge into a concrete future where cities become subtle and responsive, stimulating, facilitating and amplifying collective intelligences and emotions. By improving the ecology of the urban environment, these cities open the way to new possibilities, shaped by the harmonious alliance between technology and human sensitivity.

Explore how it’s possible to improve the healthcare system in a different way: not by saving lives, but by developing applications for those who do.

Workshop on the use of data by Julia Stamm

The responsible use of quality data is crucial to informed decision-making, especially in the face of current challenges such as climate change and social inequalities. This is particularly crucial for urban and regional players. How can we make data accessible and reuse it for the common good, in particular to improve public services and citizens’ quality of life? Dr. Julia Stamm (The Data Tank) will explore the notion of social licensing, a participatory framework aimed at liberating data for the global benefit, with a responsible and sustainable approach.
