The exhibition ECO(Systems) of Hope will be presented from October 18 to 30 as part of the event MTL connect: Montreal Digital Week. Groups from high schools, colleges, universities and communities are invited to visit the exhibition FREE of charge and participate in a workshop with the Digital Spring cultural mediation team!
The guided tours will allow participants, whatever their age or occupation, to get a better understanding of the exhibition and the themes addressed, such as climate responsibility and equity, as well as the works and the intentions of the artists through their creative process. It is also possible to include a creative workshop, in which participants can express themselves and discuss these themes.
How do contemporary artists and thinkers address pressing issues such as climate change? What is the inherent difference between what artists produce and what scientists produce, and how significant is such a difference? What imaginaries do they invite us to glimpse through their work? What are the hopes of contemporary artists? Why hope and why now?
The tours are a great opportunity for students to discover the possibilities offered by digital technologies through the works of contemporary Canadian and international artists who use media such as virtual reality, video and interactive installations in innovative and experimental ways.
