For the 6th consecutive year, Printemps numérique has orchestrated the MTL Tech Awards during its annual event MTL connect. This year’s edition reached its peak on October 30 at the Société des arts technologiques, during an awards ceremony filled with enthusiasm and impactful achievements.
On October 28, 16 finalists had the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects before a panel of experts. Their hopes and aspirations were then focused on the possibility of winning one of the 5 major awards presented at this international digital innovation competition.
With this competition, Printemps numérique is committed to promoting creative initiatives in Montreal and on the international stage by celebrating the ideas and individuals who push the boundaries of digital technology.
Winners by Award Category
Digital Literacy – Youth
Julienne Djuikam, General Director, and Albert Tatchemo Kamegne, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Centre de Référence des Élèves Issus de l’Immigration, won the award in the Digital Literacy – Youth category for the project « Les algorithmes et les bulles de filtre », presented by Olivier Laquinte, President of Talsom.
Discoverability of Francophone Culture
Maude Fraser, Manager of Signé Laval, won the award in the Discoverability of Francophone Culture category, presented by Destiny Tchéhouali, Professor at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
Women in Tech
Roxanne Lessard, CEO of Panorama, won the award in the Women in Tech category, presented by Ghislain Samson, Rector of Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).
Innovation
Claire Pennequin, Project Manager at Augmenta, won the award in the Innovation category, presented by Samir Mounir, Senior Director at Desjardins Caisse des Technologies.
Innovative Africa – UM6P (new in 2025)
Othmane Khaled, student at Université de British Columbia, won the award in this year’s new category, Innovative Africa – UM6P, presented by Yassine Laghzioui, CEO of UM6P Ventures.
MTL connect Showcase Grand Prize
This year, to highlight the excellence of the projects presented at the MTL connect Showcase, Sylvain Carle, Executive Director of CIVIC, had the pleasure of awarding the Showcase Grand Prize to Cimon Chapdelaine of PhonIA.
Antidote Eloquence Mention
During the October 28 presentations, finalists had the opportunity to win the « Antidote Eloquence Mention » offered by Druide by distinguishing themselves through the quality of their language. And it was Tania Brouillard, Director of Nanomonx, in the Digital Literacy – Youth category, who captured the jury’s attention!
Special Mentions in the Digital Literacy – Youth Category
Awareness and education in digital skills now occupy a central place in all sectors of activity, inspiring a variety of initiatives to equip today’s young citizens. In this spirit, the Digital Literacy – Youth category of the MTL Tech Awards highlights three remarkable initiatives through its special mentions in the Citizenship, Education and Culture areas.

Centre de services scolaire des Patriotes wins the « Education Mention » for the project Micro-golf et Micro:bit (in collaboration with École en réseau, RÉCIT MST, CSSDM and CSS des Découvreurs).

Grandir Sans Frontière wins the « Culture Mention » for the project I.A. Art musique et histoire.

La Puce wins the « Citizenship Mention » for the project Booste ta voix!
The winners were rewarded with a generous range of prizes in services and cash offered by renowned partners, such as UM6P, Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), Desjardins Caisse des Technologies, Talsom, GLM conseil inc., AQIII, Capitale Numérique, Druide informatique, Adoc Talent Management, École Branchée, Lien Multimédia and Printemps numérique. These contributions not only honour excellence but also significantly support the momentum of impactful innovation, thereby strengthening the dynamic fabric of this constantly evolving sector.
