Discover the first Speakers of the next edition of MTL connect: Printemps numérique de Montréal, from October 15 to 18, 2024 at the NAD-UQAC school. Under the theme of METAMORPHOSIS, the program will explore how technological advancements and innovative collaborations can transform our world. With panels and conferences organized around 4 themes, dive into the heart of the issues, including the advancements of artificial intelligence!
Opening keynote with Hugues Bersini
Hugues Bersini, director of the Artificial Intelligence laboratory at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and professor at the Faculty of Engineering as well as at the École de Commerce Solvay, will open the 6th edition by leading the opening keynote. Principal advisor to FARI, a renowned specialist in bioinformatics, cognitive sciences, and complex systems, he will explore the repercussions of artificial intelligence on various sectors such as creativity and education.
Member of the Académie Royale de Belgique, Hugues has over 300 scientific publications and 14 books to his credit, including one of his books “Chatgpt: Il était une fois une IA régressive”.
Keynote on Education and Digital Inclusion – Yannig Raffenel
Yannig Raffenel, expert in digital learning strategy and president of EdTech France, will lead the keynote on Education and Digital Inclusion.
With 30 years of experience in digital innovation for training and education, he will detail how AI can enrich educational practices and open new perspectives for personalized learning.
As a coordinator of innovative and complex projects in the field of training, Yannig will share his knowledge on the need for teachers to adopt these tools to become augmented trainers, while preserving the importance of human interaction.
AI & Creative Industries Panel – École NAD-UQAC
Organized by the École NAD-UQAC, the panel “Perspectives of AI practitioners on the future of creation and digital design” will take place on Wednesday, October 16 and will explore the revolutions of AI in the creative industries. Beyond the promises and advertising, these new technologies have influences on the daily lives of creators. By crossing the perspectives of Luc Lavergne, Karoline Georges, Georges Rafie, Martine Bertrand, and Daniel Lavoie, this panel will paint a current picture through the testimonies of those who are living this revolution. With these artists, designers, or researchers, explore AI to harness its full potential!
Who are they?
- Luc Lavergne: Concept artist, former technical director at Cirque du Soleil, Stable Diffusion specialist.
- Karoline Georges: Governor General’s Award winner for her book “De synthèse”, multidisciplinary artist using AI.
- Georges Rafie: Works at Felix & Paul for the creation of immersive experiences, explores NeRF technology.
- Daniel Lavoie: Producer with experience in software development, commercial post-production, video games, 3D animation, VFX, motion design, storytelling, and generative AI.
