Montreal, October 23, 2025 – A true international hub dedicated to digital transformation, MTL connect returns for its 7th edition, from October 28 to 31, 2025, at the Société des arts technologiques [SAT] in Montreal and online.
Organized by Printemps numérique, the event will explore the forces driving digital change—from the evolution of ideas and technologies to true revolutions in our practices, professions, and institutions.
A Francophone Digital Edition with Morocco as the Guest of Honour
This edition will honour the Kingdom of Morocco, whose dynamic digital ecosystem plays a driving role in African and Francophone innovation.

Exploring Digital Transformations and Francophone Digital Sovereignty
The 7th edition will open on October 28 with two major conferences dedicated to digital transformations and data sovereignty.
- Lamiae Azizi, professor at the College of Computing of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), co-president of the U7+ Alliance, and director of the new Accelerated Research Centre in AI (AI-ARC OCP – UM6P), will analyze the impacts of artificial intelligence on work, skills, and the ethical frameworks necessary for the digital transition.
- Stéphane Garneau, president of Micrologic and founder of Cirrus, Canada’s first sovereign cloud, will address the issues of governance and technological sovereignty in a shifting geopolitical context.
Following this, the Francophone Forum on Artificial Intelligence (FFIA) will extend these discussions around four major themes:
- Francophone digital sovereignty;
- the valorization of linguistic and cultural diversity;
- the application of artificial intelligence in strategic sectors;
- training and mobility of Francophone talent.
These discussions aim to strengthen a strong, inclusive, and forward-looking Francophone digital community.
When Digital Revolutions Reshape Societies
On October 29, the conferences will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
- Gaëlle Hermans, Jean-Louis Fraysse, and Catherine Régis will analyze the transformation of care practices and trust between patients and caregivers in the age of AI.
- On the same day, Clément Domingo, alias “SaxX—”, a renowned ethical hacker, will explore cybersecurity and digital identity issues, exposing emerging threats and strategies to strengthen collective resilience.
On October 30, the debates will turn to culture, creativity, and digital humanities.
- Artist and researcher Moridja Kitenge Banza will question the impact of generative AI on identity, memory, and cultural diversity.
- Jalal Charaf, Chief Digital Officer at UM6P, will invite attendees to rethink digital through education, ethics, and the future of work, placing humans at the heart of innovation.
Art and Technology as Vectors of Innovation
MTL connect invites the public to dive into a universe where art and technology meet to create unique experiences.
Immersive 360° projections will be presented in the Mobile Dome at the Complexe Desjardins, and workshops dedicated to digital arts, 3D creation, animation, and immersive technologies will be held on October 28 at École NAD-UQAC.
On October 31, the techno-cultural tours will offer an immersion in Montreal’s iconic innovation hubs.
These activities reflect MTL connect’s commitment to bridging culture, technology, and innovation and making them a driving force for expression and meaning.
