The Prix du Meilleur employeur technologique du Québec 2022 is won by Mirego!

The company specializing in digital product development Mirego stood out among many high-quality competitors in the contest organized by Espresso-jobs and Génie-inc, in collaboration with MTL connect: Montreal’s Digital Spring.

« At Mirego, we use the term team members to refer to our employees », states Albert Dang-Vu, co-president of Mirego. This is what sums up the philosophy that enabled the company to win the title of Best Employer in the Tech Sector of the Year.

Mirego: a brief introduction

Founded in 2007 by former managers and developers from Copernic, the company Mirego specializes in creating digital products. Its team includes nearly 180 experts based in Quebec and has developed over 250 applications to date for clients such as the SAQ, Bell, Sobeys, the Montreal Canadiens, and the CFL.

Since its inception, Mirego’s slogan has been: « Build the best team, the ideal place to work, and a better world. » According to the company, meaningful work that allows for professional fulfillment in a healthy and balanced context with one’s personal life is the best way to have a cohesive team ready to take on many challenges. A vision that won over the jury of the Best Recruiting Employer in the Tech Sector Award, made up of technology and human resources specialists.

The victory of good practices

Mirego distinguished itself on several levels to secure first place in the competition. The company notably achieved the highest scores in work-life balance and equity.

« At Mirego, we want every member of our team to achieve their life goals at work and at home. We want people to love their job so they can also love all their other projects. There’s no need to separate lifestyle and work, and I’d even say that this allows us to offer better quality services to our clients, » explains Mr. Dang-Vu.

The company deploys significant resources to build long-term relationships with its team members, even if this incurs substantial costs. For example, a dedicated budget of $1,000 per year for continuous training is offered to each employee.

« We stand by our values at Mirego. Our goal with our team members is to establish a long-term relationship of trust with each of them. We want people to come work with us for the company’s mission, » says Mr. Dang-Vu.

However, Mr. Dang-Vu points out that no company is perfect and that positive changes can always be made to the work experience offered by a company: « Generally, the suggestions that improve the work experience at Mirego come from our team members. We also draw a lot of inspiration from Silicon Valley companies in California in how we manage our human resources. »

Ultimately, what should be remembered about Mirego’s approach is that it’s important to prioritize the team over the product. « Benefits are one thing, but our mission at Mirego is first and foremost to build the best possible team. This way, we attract the most interesting and talented people, which allows us to then offer the best possible services to our clients, » concludes Mr. Dang-Vu.
