The ÉCO(Systèmes) d’Espoir exhibition will be presented from October 18 to 30 as part of the MTL connect: Montreal Digital Week. Secondary, college, university, and community school groups are invited to visit the exhibition and participate in a workshop with the cultural mediation team of Printemps numérique FREE OF CHARGE!
The guided tour will allow participants, regardless of age or occupation, to gain a better understanding of the exhibition and the themes addressed, such as climate responsibility and equity, as well as the works and the intention of the artists through their creative process. It is also possible to include a creative workshop, in which participants can express themselves and discuss these themes.
In what ways do contemporary artists and thinkers address urgent issues such as climate change? What is the inherent difference between what artists produce and what scientists produce, and why is such a difference important? What imaginaries do they invite us to glimpse through their work? What are the hopes of contemporary artists? Why hope and why now?
These visits are an excellent opportunity for students to discover the possibilities offered by digital technologies through the work of Canadian and international contemporary artists who use media such as virtual reality, video, and interactive installations in innovative and experimental ways.
