Nantes, September 16, 2025 – On the occasion of the launch of the Nantes Digital Week, during the Salon Data & IA, four major players in the Francophone digital sector have formalized a joint commitment charter for responsible digital practices in events. This unprecedented initiative brings together Capitale Numérique (Québec), Printemps numérique (Montréal), La Cantine x La French Tech Nantes and La Cité des Congrès de Nantes, around a shared vision: building a more ethical, sustainable and inclusive digital sector.
International cooperation around shared values
Born from ties woven over several years between the Nantes and Québec ecosystems, this charter formalizes a collective commitment across four fundamental axes:
- The promotion of ethical artificial intelligence, in continuity with the declaration signed in 2023 between La Cité des Congrès and Printemps numérique.
- The ecological transition, by integrating eco-responsible practices into the design and production of digital events.
- Gender parity and the representation of women in digital, to ensure equitable participation and the valorization of female role models.
- Support for local ecosystems, through the sharing of experiences, mutual visibility and privileged hosting of delegations during major digital events in each territory.
A strong commitment from Francophone digital actors
For Francky Trichet, president of La Cité des Congrès de Nantes, this signature testifies to a « desire to durably structure an ethical and citizen-oriented digital sector at the territorial level ».
Mehdi Benboubakeur, co-founder and general director of Printemps numérique, emphasizes « the urgency of placing artificial intelligence at the heart of priorities, while strengthening the diversity of actors shaping our digital future ».
For her part, Carole-Ann Labrie, general director and co-founder of Capitale Numérique, recalls that « digital responsibility must be concretely embodied in the organization of events, here and elsewhere ».
Finally, Adrien Poggetti, director of La Cantine x La French Tech Nantes, highlights the « shared values between Nantes and Québec: inclusion, innovation, sobriety and cooperation ».
Building a lasting bridge between innovation and responsibility
Beyond a simple declaration of intent, this charter paves the way for a collaborative reflection dynamic among partners, aiming to rethink how digital can contribute to the common good.
It is part of a series of structuring initiatives that have been bringing Nantes and Montréal closer together for several years, two pioneering territories in the implementation of a digital sector that is human, ethical and sustainable.
Towards an international model for responsible digital events
By joining forces, the four organizations aim to inspire other Francophone digital actors to follow suit. Their ambition: to make the events sector a laboratory for responsible innovation, where technology becomes a lever for ecological transition, inclusion and sustainable development.
« Digital must serve to bring individuals together, not to distance them. Together, we have the responsibility to make it a space of trust, equity and positive impact », concluded Mehdi Benboubakeur.
