Montreal, March 11, 2021 — The third edition of MTL connect: Montreal’s Digital Week will take place from October 12 to 17, 2021 in a hybrid format. On this occasion, Printemps numérique invites you to submit your application by April 30, 2021 at the latest to present: conferences, discussion panels and workshops around the central theme of RENAISSANCE.

MTL connect is an internationally renowned event that democratizes the issues and challenges related to digital transformation at the technological, economic, social, cultural and environmental levels. By digital transformation, we mean: « the cultural, organizational and operational change of an organization, sector or ecosystem through the intelligent integration of digital technologies, processes and skills at all levels and functions in a progressive and strategic manner ».

In the current context of the pandemic, governments, businesses, civil society and individuals have faced an unprecedented global crisis. They have had to show resilience in the face of adversity.

This period has seen the massive acceleration of digital transformation across all sectors to address pressing priorities and to create a certain « normalcy » despite confinement and social distancing.

Now, it is imperative for us to go beyond resilience and move into a new period. A period of profound transformation that heralds a renewal, a paradigm shift towards a prosperous future.

Historically, the Renaissance marked the transition between the Middle Ages and modern times, during which many upheavals and paradigm shifts, both scientific and social, occurred. Today’s RENAISSANCE can be considered a period of transition, where we let go of the uncertainty and fear of the unknown caused by the pandemic, towards a reimagined new normal. A normal that learns from the past, uses today’s technological advancements and faces tomorrow’s challenges.

TELL YOUR RENAISSANCE MOMENT

This year, as part of MTL connect 2021, Printemps numérique invites you to join the discussions around the following questions:

• In a world where everything seems to have changed, is it better to REBUILD or REPAIR?
• RENAISSANCE and RECOGNITION: Knowing how to name things to adequately respond to new realities?
• What is the role of government or rather E-government in the face of this upheaval?
• What has been and what will be your response to the upheavals?
• How does this allow us to rethink the relationship between society and the economy, between media and democracy, economic models, work methods, interpersonal communications, inclusion and diversity, etc. In short, what are the new possibilities?

RENAISSANCE will be the common thread of the event. It will bring together the multiple themes that will be addressed in the various Pavilions of the 2021 edition of MTL connect.
