The year is drawing to a close, and it’s time to take stock of the successes and highlights of Printemps numérique. This year was marked by significant progress in our activities; here’s an overview of some of our projects:
JEUNESSE QC2030
The Jeunesse QC 2030 project by Printemps numérique, supported by the Secrétariat à la jeunesse of Québec and presented by Hydro-Québec, offers digital literacy programs for youth aged 13 to 29 to help them become informed digital citizens.
This project is implemented through initiatives such as:
- Digital Cafés
- Québec Youth Digital Literacy Consultation Table.
- Action Research
- Mois Numérique Jeunesse (MNJ24)
MNJ 2024 by the numbers:
- 37 days
- Over 30,000 youth
- 7,700 website visits
- 395,127 people reached online
- A podcast series: “Digital Footprint”

MTL CONNECT 2024
MTL connect is an event designed to help people understand the challenges and issues of the digital revolution while providing solutions to leverage its benefits and offering opportunities to develop business relationships.
With over 13,000 participants, both online and in person—including 24% of in-person attendees from abroad (compared to 17% in 2023)—and over 1,400 business meetings, MTL connect 2024 strengthened its central role in the ecosystem, particularly in the digital Francophonie.
The exceptional quality of the content, featuring world-renowned experts, enabled an in-depth exploration of critical digital issues. These results are a testament to your commitment, ideas, and collaboration. You are at the heart of MTL connect’s success, and we warmly thank you for it.

AI & HEALTH RESEARCH TRAINING
Printemps numérique, in collaboration with Humaniteq, launched a brand-new training program on AI & Health research.
This training, aimed at health students across all three university cycles, seeks to promote science and innovation in the Francophonie through the production of audio modules and hybrid workshops.
In 2024, three audio modules were produced and released. An inaugural workshop was held during MTL connect 2024. In 2025, five more modules will be released—stay tuned!
This initiative would not have been possible without the support of our partners: the NovaScience program of the Québec Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE), the Fonds de recherche du Québec, the Azrieli Research Centre at CHU Sainte-Justine, the CHUM School of Artificial Intelligence in Health, the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal, the Digital Health Consortium of Université de Montréal, Génome Québec, Montréal InVivo, the Population Health Research Network (RRSPQ), and the Québec Society for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.

It’s not just our projects that have been successful!
Our Executive Director, Mehdi Benboubakeur, was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the Crown of Belgium by royal decree on May 25, 2024.
This distinction, presented on November 27, 2024, by Geert Vansintjan, Consul General of Belgium in Montréal, recognized his role in strengthening ties between Québec and Belgium and his commitment to an inclusive and responsible digital future. A well-deserved honour for Mehdi and the entire team!
In 2024, the rise of generative artificial intelligence redefined creativity and efficiency while raising crucial ethical challenges. Regulation and the responsible use of these technologies have become essential to ensure collective, ethical, equitable, and sustainable benefits. Supporting these initiatives means actively committing to a sustainable and progressive technological future.
