Biographie
It was during his military career with the Royal 22e Régiment that Capt(ret) Waterhouse traded his rifle for a keyboard to become one of the first cyber-soldiers in the country. After working to train soldiers and officers in combat arms, he dedicated himself to managing the computer networks of QGSQFT, then the Metropolitan network of Montreal Base. Subsequently, he became the first Information Systems Security Officer of Montreal Base, and later of the Royal Military College Saint-Jean, where he redesigned the IT architecture. Mr. Waterhouse continued his quest for knowledge in the private sector while sharing his military experience and oratory skills with the Canadian Cadet Movement as a CIC officer, and started his consulting business: INFOSECSW. He continues to share his passion and experience as a course lecturer at the Université de Sherbrooke in the 2nd cycle microprogram in IT security – prevention stream, and is invited to contribute his experience and expertise to the committees of the House of Commons of Canada and the National Assembly of Quebec (member of the advisory council on cybersecurity), and is frequently sought after by national media to comment on cybersecurity issues. He holds several professional technology certifications and is an instructor with Cisco, CompTIA, and CWNP. He is also a PADI Dive Master.
