Biographie
Dr. Guillaume Bourque is a Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at McGill University, holder of the Canada Research Chair in Computational Genomics and Medicine, and Director of Bioinformatics at the McGill Genome Centre. He is also a Principal Investigator at the Advanced Institute for Human Biology (ASHBi) at Kyoto University. Dr. Bourque serves on the Scientific Steering Committee of the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC) and the Steering Committee of the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH). Since 2022, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, where he contributes to the development of the national strategy for advanced research computing, data, and software. He leads the SecureData4Health computing platform, funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, as well as a project funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Genome Canada, the Pan-Canadian Genome Library, which facilitates the analysis and sharing of genomic data across the country. His research focuses on comparative and functional genomics, with a particular interest in the applications of next-generation sequencing technologies and transposable elements.
