Biographie
Christian Sarra-Bournet is the Executive Director of the Institut quantique (IQ) at Université de Sherbrooke since its creation in 2015. The IQ is a research community of over 300 members that brings together experts in quantum materials, quantum information, and quantum engineering. Since then, he has significantly contributed to the development of research and training in quantum sciences and technologies, notably through the establishment of Canada’s first IBM Quantum Hub and the creation of the Québec government’s Quantum Technologies Innovation Zone in Sherbrooke. As an expert on the quantum technologies panel for the Council of Canadian Academies and a member of the executive committee of Québec quantique, Christian actively participates in discussions surrounding Canada’s and Québec’s national quantum strategies.
Christian holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from Université Laval, Canada, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Université de Toulouse, France.
