Biographie
Dr. Mounir is an innovation expert and a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in venture capital and investments in the innovation and technology sectors. He has held various senior management positions, including Vice President at VantagePoint Capital Partners, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm managing a fund of over USD 4.5 billion.
After earning his PhD in immunology, Dr. Mounir pursued a career as a researcher, professor, and director and manager in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He developed several projects at Biochem Pharma and Origenix Technologies, which led to the development of clinical candidates. After obtaining an MBA, he shifted his career and co-founded technology companies such as Polygone Pharma, IMMUNOTHER, and more recently the artificial intelligence company TheoSym. He also participated in the IPO of Inhibitex on the Nasdaq.
At the Caisse de dépôt du Québec, as a senior analyst, Dr. Mounir was responsible for a significant portfolio of life sciences and health technology companies worth over USD 100 million. He also founded and managed his own consulting firm, where he completed, among other things, a USD 26 million financing round for a technology company.
In addition to serving on several investment committees, Dr. Mounir currently sits on the board of directors of AIoT Canada. Finally, he remains a Diamond business mentor at the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship and the Réseau M, where he supports several entrepreneurs and businesses.
