Montreal, November 5, 2020 – Under the banner of boldness and innovation, Printemps numérique held the second 100% online edition of MTL connect: Montreal’s Digital Week, from October 13 to 18, 2020.
One of Printemps numérique’s main goals was to connect participants with each other. Mission accomplished, as more than 16,000 interactions between participants took place via the online platforms provided.

- 11,909 participants, including 4,193 for the ISEA2020 component
- 87 countries represented
- 18 international delegations and 6 intra-Quebec delegations
- 474 sessions: 308 conferences, 107 workshops and 59 panels
- +600 Speakers and 133 local and international artists
- +300 hours of content: 12 hours of live content per day across 6 channels
- 1,732 visitors to the ISEA2020 artistic website
- 229 visitors in the virtual world
- 9 Thematic Pavilions: Cybersecurity and Digital Identity / AI, IoT and 4.0 / FinTech / City of the Future / Work of Tomorrow / Creativity – ISEA2020 / Health / Education / Sustainable Development.

A RICH AND DIVERSE PROGRAM
The event also featured a technology zone with the award ceremony for the MTL Tech Awards, an e-Employment Fair, consultation clinics, express coaching, smart networking, business meetings through the presence of international and local delegations, and networking moments in the form of a 5 to 7 in the virtual world of Printemps numérique.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Including:
- Smart Buildings and Communities, from Germany and Quebec: in partnership with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Montreal;
- Le Festival du Monde: 3 sessions hosted by journalists from Le Monde newspaper, in collaboration with the Consulate of France in Quebec and with the support of the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie of the Government of Quebec;
- Holt Fintech Show: presented in collaboration with Holt Accelerator.
NOTABLE ATTENDEES
Notable attendees included, among others: Éric Caire, Quebec Minister Delegate for Government Digital Transformation; Audrey Tang, Digital Minister (Taiwan); Sir Rob Wainwright, Senior Partner at Deloitte (Netherlands) and former Director General of Europol; Alissa Knight, Hacker (United States); Jean-Gabriel Ganascia, computer scientist and philosopher at Sorbonne Université – President of COMETS, CNRS Ethics Committee (France); Jeanne Holm, Chief Data Officer (CDO) and Senior Technology Advisor to the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles (United States); and Victor Riparbelli, Co-founder and CEO of Synthesia (Great Britain).
Also worth highlighting is the Franco-Quebec collaboration, notably through exchanges between the following cities:
- Roundtable with Mr. Régis Labeaume, Mayor of Quebec City, and Mr. Édouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and former Prime Minister (France);
- Roundtable with Mr. Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin, Mayor of the City of Gatineau, and Lilla Merabet, VP Innovation of the Grand Est region (France);
- Roundtable with Mr. François W. Croteau, Borough Mayor, Montreal, and Mr. Francky Trichet, VP Digital Innovation, International Relations of Nantes Métropole (France).
A great success for Printemps numérique, for whom MTL connect is: the future to build together and the development of new collaborations to strengthen Montreal as a global digital capital. In this momentum, a third edition will take place in October 2021, in a hybrid format. So mark your calendars for next year!
