Biographie
I am a technologist, and my interests lie at the intersection of technology, payments and innovation.
I serve as Deputy Director of Financial Services for the Poor at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where I lead the Level One Project initiative, which aims to promote the deployment of payment platforms for poor populations (http://leveloneproject.org).
I chair the board of directors of the Mojaloop Foundation (http://mojaloop.io), which hosts the open-source Mojaloop software, making it easy and free to interconnect payment systems. I sit on the board of directors of the InterLedger Foundation (http://interledger.org), which hosts the open protocol for sending payments over the Internet.
Previously, I co-founded and led Innotribe, SWIFT’s initiative to foster collaborative innovation in the financial sector. At SWIFT, I was also the chief architect of SWIFTNet, the global secure network that serves as the backbone, currently connecting 8,000 banks and 1,000 companies and serving the global economy daily.
I wrote The Castle And The Sandbox, a book that explains how to foster innovation within established systems and companies.
