Biographie
In September 2012, Mr. Oliver joined the Montreal Port Authority, where he currently holds the position of Director, Business Intelligence and Innovation. His mandate includes strategic planning, research, performance monitoring, commercial intelligence, traffic forecasting, and the development of decision-support tools, as well as leading several innovation projects that leverage emerging technologies through strategic partnerships.
Previously, Mr. Oliver worked at Transport Canada as part of its National Gateways and Corridors program. There, he led the development of a national performance monitoring program for the supply chain, including the design and implementation of key performance indicators in Canada’s major seaports.
Daniel Oliver earned a PhD in Economic Geography (Maritime Transport) from the University of Hong Kong in 2006. He has published articles on container ports, logistics, and Asian transnational corporations in several academic journals. Mr. Oliver has lived in China (Hong Kong), France, and Australia.
