Biographie
Joana Neto Costa has been working in the performing arts sector as a project manager for about ten years.
Born in Montreal to parents of Portuguese origin, she grew up and completed her training as a theatre producer in Porto, Portugal. There, she co-founded the company A TURMA (2006) and worked as a freelance collaborator with several Portuguese theatre companies (Cao Danado and Visoes Uteis) until 2012.
After dedicating her skills and dynamism to the performing arts for many years (Théâtre aux Écuries, Opéra de Montréal, Conseil québécois du théâtre and Théâtre Espace Libre), and developing an interest in digital transformation for the live arts, she is now in charge of the Trajectoires numériques program at La Piscine MTL – a Montreal accelerator for the creative and cultural industries.
In 2019, she completed a master’s degree in digital transformation for cultural organizations at HEC Montréal.
She was a member of the Réseau ADN (Réseau d’agent·e·s de développement numérique) of Quebec and acted in this capacity for the Conseil québécois du théâtre (CQT).
Firmly believing in the arts and technological innovation, she is particularly interested in data-driven culture and the potential that digital transformation offers to cultural organizations.
