Biographie
Jean-Philippe Décarie-Mathieu has worked in various fields of information technology and security over the past 22 years, from developer to network security analyst, systems administrator, and security operations centre manager.
He co-founded and worked as General Manager of Crypto.Québec, a popular science organization aimed at raising public awareness of issues related to mass surveillance, information security, and privacy. He sits on the board of directors and the organizing committee of NorthSec, Canada’s largest applied cybersecurity gathering and the world’s largest in-person “capture the flag” (CTF) competition. Additionally, he is a member of the advisory committee for SplinterCon, a conference addressing topics such as the Balkanization of the Internet and the circumvention of online censorship by repressive regimes.
An international speaker and frequent guest on the Quebec media circuit, offering unique insights and analysis on technology-related risks, Jean-Philippe currently works as an independent cybersecurity consultant.
