Biographie
Holder of a PhD in Philosophy and Letters from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Thierry Vermeeren has been active in the field of digital transformation for over 20 years. He has spent the last fifteen years working in healthcare institutions across Europe, the Middle East and the USA. His passion for knowledge sharing has also led him to accept various teaching positions across Europe, the USA and Canada. He currently teaches at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Liège (Belgium), at EFAP in Paris (France) and participates in a General AI DIU in Dijon. His primary activity, however, remains business management and digital health consulting.
After working as a consultant for various international institutions, Dr. Vermeeren held several managerial positions, including Chief Information Officer and Member of the Management Committee in the government sector for about ten years.
Since 2008, he has left his executive positions to create his own consulting firm, OZConsulting, which he still manages today. Since then, he has focused on the healthcare sector and has been involved in change management for the largest hospitals and laboratories at national and international levels. He is also Scientific Director of the WeLink.Care Community, a think tank made up of 6,000 healthcare professionals and 420 healthcare institutions that contributes to the digitisation of the healthcare sector and the emergence of Hospital 2.0. Winner of several international awards, he is a renowned speaker in the field of digital transformation and a prolific author who has written more than 60 white papers on various aspects of digital health. In 2024, he published “L’illusion Numérique”, an essay dedicated to the impact of digital technology on our societies in general and on the healthcare sector in particular.
