Biographie
OrIA is a Quebec-based startup founded in 2025 that develops human resources management (HRM) software specifically designed for private seniors’ residences (RPA) and CHSLDs.
In healthcare settings, OrIA harnesses artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency and staff well-being: the platform streamlines the administrative management of complex schedules while actively monitoring staff well-being to ensure quality care.
Since its inception, OrIA has stood out in Quebec’s life sciences and health technology ecosystem. In January 2025, the startup secured financial support from the Life Sciences Entrepreneurship Development Program (PERCER). It was then named the winner of the Health category at the Coopérathon 2025, powered by Desjardins, and is now part of Centech’s Accélération 2025 program.
Currently in co-development, OrIA is led by three co-founders with complementary expertise. Hana Maalaoui leverages over a decade of experience in research and coordination in the healthcare sector to guide the strategic vision and operational development. Meriem Aissiou draws on her finance expertise and experience managing a seniors’ residence to drive impact modeling, regulatory compliance, and international development. Finally, Mathieu Bucher brings over ten years of experience in industrial artificial intelligence, applying his technological know-how to software development and OrIA’s AI algorithms. The platform is also supported by an interdisciplinary committee of researchers and experts in health and technology, as well as a user committee, to ensure a solution firmly grounded in real-world needs.
