UnitedXR Europe is pleased to be present this year at MTL connect and to host a Belgian-Quebec panel to strengthen the ties that already unite Quebec and, more broadly, Canada with Belgium and Europe.
The panel proposed on Thursday, October 29 will raise awareness among Quebec organizations, businesses, and research centers about new opportunities for international cooperation and funding for their work.
Indeed, since 2024, Canadian businesses and research centers have been eligible for the Horizon Europe Programme Pillar II of the European Commission. Endowed with nearly 97 billion euros (approximately 155 billion CAD) over 7 years, this program offers several calls for proposals per year on targeted themes, enabling the formation of consortia bringing together private and public operators from multiple countries, including Canada. Pillar II covers health, culture and creativity, digital, security, energy, industry, space, mobility, and food. This panel aims to present the opportunities of the Horizon Programme and to show how Canadian businesses can join European partners to respond to them. Concrete examples of how a European consortium operates will be presented, as well as specific projects seeking Canadian partners in the digital sector.
In the panel, the representative of the Walloon program HITT (Human Interaction Technology Transfer) will also bring collaboration proposals on various themes.
Finally, as UnitedXR takes place in Brussels five weeks after MTL connect, its participants will receive a 25% discount on the European event, whose first days will be dedicated to European programs and the formation of international consortia.
