For a second consecutive year, the programming of MTL connect will offer techno-cultural visits in Montreal on Friday, October 13th. Through these activities, Printemps numérique aims to promote the cultural and creative institutions of the metropolis, both locally and internationally.
The selected venues and facilities will welcome participants from international delegations as well as local participants to showcase the use of technology in the fields of media arts and cultural industries. Participants will be able to experience the unique character of Montreal, a cultural metropolis, and its wealth linked to digital industries.
This is also an opportunity for artistic directors and leaders of organizations to share their inspirations and ideas in order to generate avenues for exchange and collaboration with the participants.
A few spots are still available to participate in these visits, offered to holders of a full access pass and international delegates of MTL connect. ON THE PROGRAM
Oasis Immersion – 9:30 AM

National Film Board of Canada (NFB) – 11:00 AM
The NFB is a Canadian federal cultural institution founded in 1939, dedicated to the production and distribution of audiovisual works that reflect Canadian identity. By visiting the NFB, you will dive into a treasure trove of audiovisual works representing Canada’s creativity and diversity, thus offering a deeply enriching cultural experience.

McCord Stewart Museum, exhibition Montreal in the Making – Duncan, 19th-Century Painter – 3:30 PM
The McCord Stewart Museum, anchored in the heart of the metropolis for over 100 years, highlights life in Montreal, from the past to the present. The exhibition Montreal in the Making – Duncan, 19th-Century Painter takes on its full meaning there. James Duncan’s urban landscapes shaped the representation of the city of Montreal in the 19th century. What would the world look like through the eyes of someone whose only reality was modeled after an artist’s illustrations? This is the question that the digital art studio Iregular answered by submitting Duncan’s works from the McCord Stewart Museum’s collection to artificial intelligence.
Using this data and a generative program, the studio designed a three-dimensional virtual representation of a synthetic image universe composed of topographic layers and superimposed reliefs. The result is a unique, constantly renewed experience, creating evolving imaginary landscapes derived from Duncan’s work.
