Montreal, December 8, 2022 ― For its 4th edition, held from October 17 to 30, 2022, MTL connect achieved all its objectives and reinforced Montreal’s position as a global digital capital. The theme of ÉCO(Systèmes) d’Espoir brought together professionals from Canada and abroad to collectively build a desirable and responsible digital future.
Thus, 10,452 participants, including 3,327 in person, interested in the impact of digital technology on our society, attended the conferences and activities offered at the 7 Doigts, Montreal, and online.

MAJOR MEETINGS
We were delighted to welcome 246 Speakers from here and abroad to MTL connect 2022.
Here are some of the Speakers from this 4th edition:
- Speakers: Hugues Bersini, Bronwyn Boyle, Philippe Longchamps, Cheryl Bryce, Christopher Cordova, Philippe Beaudoin, Shohini Ghose and Isabelle Collet.

- Official attendees: Sylvie Barcelo, Éric Dequenne, Ericka Alneus, Nathalie Maillé, Luc Rabouin and Anne-Marie Jean.
- International institutions and diplomacy: Government of the Republic of Senegal, Embassy of Senegal, Embassy and Consulates of the United States in Canada, Consulate General of France in Quebec, Consulate General of Belgium and the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).
SENEGAL IN THE SPOTLIGHT
In its commitment to reaffirm its ties to the Francophone community, MTL connect put Senegal in the spotlight. This was also an opportunity to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Senegalese-Canadian cooperation relations.
A major delegation consisting of two ministers—Mr. Moussa Bocar Thiam, Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy of Senegal, and Mr. El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Mbaye, Minister Advisor to His Excellency the President of the Republic Macky Sall—and made up of over 90 delegates took part in the event.
The delegation, coordinated by the Embassy of Senegal in Ottawa, also included high-level representatives such as Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum, CEO of Sénégal Numérique S.A., as well as other representatives from institutions involved in the development of Senegal’s digital sector.

TWO MAJOR EVENTS
This year, the artistic programming was marked by two major events:
- The ÉCO(Systèmes) d’Espoir exhibition, held from October 18 to 30, 2022 at Anteism Books, welcomed 624 visitors.
13 works were on display, including interactive installations, videos and virtual reality pieces, designed and produced by Adriana Knouf, Ælab, Dayna Danger, François Quévillon, Gali Blay & Leila Zelli, Gilberto Esparza, Ludovic Boney, Rosalie Dumont Gagné, Sandrine Deumier, Marcela Armas, Somme Collective and Theresa Shubert & Sage Jenson. An opening reception was held on October 18, 2022, in the presence of Simon Brault, CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts, Anne-Marie Jean, President and CEO of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, and Nathalie Maillé, Executive Director of the Conseil des Arts de Montréal.
- The closing event OCTOV @ MTL connect took place on October 21, 2022, under the dome of the SAT with 769 participants.
Prestigious guests livened up the evening with surprising and captivating music and videos: ZADIG, LYDO, resident artist BitterCaress, VJ Tind EN b2b, VJ Création Ex Nihilo and VJ Daph4000.
In total, 20 local and international artists participated in the 4th edition of MTL connect.
