Printemps numérique (PN) and the City of Porto Novo (capital of Benin), in collaboration with the MRIF and the City of Montreal, are joining forces to strengthen relations between the Quebec and Porto Novo digital ecosystems.
This project is taking shape as part of MTL connect: Montreal’s Digital Week, which will take place from October 15 to 23, 2022. It will host a Beninese delegation made up of entrepreneurs and develop collaboration opportunities with Porto Novo in the field of digital cooperation.
Special attention will be given to eco-responsible businesses to support Porto Novo in its projects to become a resilient, structured city adapted to climate change and mindful of preserving its environment.
This first mission will be an opportunity for the Benin delegation to expand their knowledge and skills, and to develop a network of contacts with Quebec organizations expert in supporting technology companies. The longer-term goal will be to launch, in collaboration with Quebec organizations, a technology business incubator in Porto Novo.
Through this project, PN and the City of Porto Novo aim to:
- Contribute to strengthening the knowledge and expertise of the Beninese delegation members;
- Build the foundations of sustainable cooperation between the two territories by connecting young Beninese entrepreneurs and executives with experienced Quebec entrepreneurs in sustainable development;
- Create exchange opportunities with Quebec incubators;
- Provide spaces for reflection during MTL connect on new digital challenges on both sides of the Atlantic;
- Contribute to the influence of both territories and to the promotion of Quebec know-how.
This project is funded by the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie (MRIF) and also benefits from the support of the City of Montreal.
