Shohini Ghose

Shohini Ghose wanted to be an explorer like Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian astronaut. She hasn’t made it to space yet, but she did become an explorer of the quantum world as a physics Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is an award-winning quantum physicist and author who has made foundational contributions to quantum science and communication. Shohini is the founding Director of the Laurier Centre for Women in Science and holds the NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering in Canada. She is a TED Senior Fellow, and was elected to the College of the Royal Society of Canada in 2017. Shohini currently serves on the Scientific Board of the UNESCO International Basic Science Program. She is the author of Clues to the Cosmos and she still dreams of going to space.
