Nantes, September 16, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 During the launch of Nantes Digital Week<\/strong> at the Data & AI Salon<\/strong>, four leading organizations from the French-speaking digital ecosystem came together to sign a Joint Charter for Responsible Digital Practices in the Event Industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone agreement brings together Capitale Num\u00e9rique (Quebec)<\/strong>, Printemps num\u00e9rique (Montreal)<\/strong>, La Cantine x La French Tech Nantes<\/strong>, and La Cit\u00e9 des Congr\u00e8s de Nantes<\/strong>, united by a shared vision: to build a digital future that is ethical, sustainable, and inclusive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A transatlantic collaboration built on shared values<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The charter formalizes years of collaboration between the ecosystems of Nantes<\/strong> and Quebec<\/strong>, outlining four key commitments for a more responsible digital sector:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Promoting ethical artificial intelligence<\/strong>, building on the 2023 declaration signed between La Cit\u00e9 des Congr\u00e8s and Printemps num\u00e9rique.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Driving ecological transition<\/strong>, by integrating sustainable and low-impact practices in digital event production.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Advancing gender parity and women\u2019s representation<\/strong> in the digital industry, ensuring fair participation and visibility of female role models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Supporting local digital ecosystems<\/strong>, through mutual visibility, the exchange of best practices, and preferential access for delegations at each partner\u2019s flagship events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    A strong commitment from Francophone digital leaders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    According to Francky Trichet<\/strong>, President of La Cit\u00e9 des Congr\u00e8s de Nantes<\/strong>, the initiative demonstrates \u201ca strong commitment to building an ethical and civic-minded digital future rooted in our territories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Mehdi Benboubakeur<\/strong>, Co-founder and Executive Director of Printemps num\u00e9rique (Montreal)<\/strong>, emphasized \u201cthe urgency of placing artificial intelligence at the heart of our priorities, while strengthening the diversity of voices shaping our digital future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Carole-Ann Labrie<\/strong>, Co-founder and Executive Director of Capitale Num\u00e9rique (Quebec)<\/strong>, highlighted that \u201cresponsibility must be embedded in how we design and deliver international digital events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Meanwhile, Adrien Poggetti<\/strong>, Director of La Cantine x La French Tech Nantes<\/strong>, pointed to the \u201cshared values connecting Nantes and Quebec \u2014 inclusion, innovation, ethics, and sustainability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It continues a long-standing partnership between Nantes and Montreal<\/strong>, two pioneering cities known for advancing ethical and human-centered digital transformation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Toward a global model for responsible digital events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    By uniting their efforts, the four organizations aim to inspire other actors across the Francophone and global digital communities<\/strong> to follow suit. Their shared ambition is to make the event sector a laboratory for responsible innovation<\/strong>, where technology becomes a true driver of ecological transition, inclusion, and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
