Montreal, September 18, 2023 – MTL connect<\/a>, the annual international event organized by Montr\u00e9al Digital Spring (Printemps num\u00e9rique<\/a>), enthusiastically announces the official program for its 5th anniversary edition. See you from October 10 to 13, 2023 <\/strong>at the NAD School in Montreal and online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the theme of COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE<\/strong>, MTL connect will bring together a community of entrepreneurs, researchers, decision-makers, industry players and artists to explore the challenges and opportunities of the digital revolution. With a cross-cutting vision encompassing economic, social, cultural and environmental aspects, the event serves as a platform to foster cross-sector understanding and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belgium in the spotlight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Senegal in 2022, it’s Belgium’s turn to be the country in the spotlight during MTL connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The history between MTL connect and Belgium is rich in complicity and exchanges. This year, a large delegation from the country’s three regions will be present at the event. It will be accompanied by hub.brussels<\/a>,\u00a0the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency\u00a0(AWEX)<\/a>,\u00a0Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT)<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, Montreal Digital Spring is honored to welcome the\u00a0Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region, Mr. Rudi Vervoort<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belgian point of view will be particularly highlighted through conferences, workshops, Focus territoires, as well as the long-awaited Caf\u00e9 belge on October 11 at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pierre L\u00e9vy<\/a>, researcher and professor at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, will explore the new possibilities for collective intelligence offered by emerging technologies such as generative artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between well-adopted AIs like Siri and Google Maps that we can’t live without, and more controversial AIs like the autonomous car and ChatGPT, why are humans so ambivalent about the role of AI in our society? Pierre-Majorique L\u00e9ger and Sylvain Sen\u00e9cal, professors at HEC Montr\u00e9al, co-directors of Tech3Lab and IVADO ecosystem researchers, are leading a strategic research program on the responsible development, acceptance and framing of AI in different contexts such as education, the future of work, transportation and service providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, MTL connect puts the spotlight on digital arts from Quebec and beyond. For this 5th edition, come and discover two installations featuring the work of\u00a0Yan Breuleux<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Louis-Philippe Rondeau<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yan, a professor at the School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design (NAD), is a researcher in visual music for immersive devices. For nearly a decade, he has collaborated with musicians on multi-screen creations, panoramas, architectural projections and integral domes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Louis-Philippe, a teacher and researcher, specializes in the development of devices that explore self-representation and performance in playful, unconventional ways. His research-creation focuses on simplicity of design and intuitive user experience, eschewing the complexity of computer code in favor of physical interfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
