Panel Collision Cybersecurity / IoT – October 13, 2020

Innovation requires new thinking. New thinking requires an ability to assimilate new information and to see existing information in a new light. The MTL connect Panel Collision aims to generate discussion around an issue by bringing together experts from two different ecosystems in order to explore collaborations, expose the challenges of digital transformation, highlight resources and available talents and to promote experimentation between different actors.
One of the objectives of MTL connect is to promote cross-pollination. Thus, with the Panel Collision Cybersecurity / IoT, we bring together experts from two ecosystems in order to explore the challenges of digital transformation and to showcase talent of these different sectors to bring out new ideas, new solutions.
In collaboration with AIoT Canada and In-Sec-M, MTL connect is launching a call for panelists to participate in the Panel under the theme:
IoT: opportunities or threats?
The number of connected objects should reach 75.4B according to Statista. The security of these objects is often very low. Recently, several stories have raised doubts about the security of connected objects, whether a 14-year-old hacker created a new malware called “malware Silex” which has bricked more than 4,000 IoT devices in the space of a few hours or even hacked domestic webcams stories.
Is the proliferation of connected objects weakening our system? What are the possible solutions to explore in order to secure our increasingly connected infrastructures?
