Justine Decaens studied textile engineering in France at the École Nationale des Arts et Industries Textiles (ENSAIT) and then continued her training with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS), here in Montreal. She conducted her master’s degree project in collaboration with the CTT Group on the theme of protective clothing against cold, for the Arctic climate.
She then worked as a project manager in the R&D department, particularly in the field of intelligent textiles. To date, it has carried out more than twenty projects involving the manufacture of heating clothing, luminous textiles, integration of textile sensors, etc.
She is now Director of Technology Innovation – Intelligent Textile and continues to oversee the development of new textile technologies. It is also a member of the ASTM committee for the standardization of intelligent textiles.
The CTT Group is a technology transfer centre specialising in the research, development and analysis of technical textiles, geosynthetics and advanced textile-based materials. We assist industry in R&D, product development, property analysis and material performance services and support companies in the marketing of high value-added products.
We also offer research and development and prototyping services for new applications. Thanks to our modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to meet the most demanding technical standards.
For customers looking to develop new products, we offer scientific and technical expertise and support them in their marketing efforts.
